Reziero’s Obituary Reziero “Ray” Vitolo, of Wallkill, entered into rest at home, on Wednesday January 16, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was 86. Born in Sarno, Italy, on February 8, 1932, Ray was the son of the late Alfonso and Luisa (Annunziata) Vitolo.

He was married to Luisa DiNardi for 63 years. A retired restaurant owner, he was the former owner of Vesuvio’s Restaurant. Reziero, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was known in his community as a hardworking restauranteur who was liked by many. As the patriarch of his family, he strived to build a beautiful life for those around him who immigrated to New York via Sarno Italy. Ray enjoyed hunting, cooking, wine-making and spending time with his family.

He was well loved and will be sadly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Luisa; his children Gaetana Dascoli of Wallkill, Anthony Vitolo of Wallkill and Carmela Vitolo-Gelsomine of Wallkill; sisters Gaetana Mazella of Fraiser, Michigan, Lucia Vitolo of Italy, and Olga Vitolo of Italy; brothers Peter Vitolo of Italy, Orlando Vitolo of Italy and Carlo Vitolo of Italy; grandchildren Anthony Vitolo, Donald Babcock III, Vito Dascoli III, Michael Dascoli, Gabriella Gelsomine and Giavanna Gelsomine; and great-grandchildren Tristan Vitolo, Julianne Vitolo, Lilly Vitolo, Emma Vitolo, Mason Slaughter, and Elia Dascoli. In addition to his parents Reziero was predeceased by his daughter Maria Vitolo and his grandson Joseph Vitolo.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, from 5-8pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. , Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 23 at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh.

Entombment will follow at the Cedar Hill Mausoleum.
