Rhonda’s Obituary Rhonda Sue Ryan Tingle, age 64, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was reunited with the Lord on December 28, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born October 18, 1954 to the late D.L. Ryan and Eloise Ryan of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She attended Cottondale Elementary, graduated from Holt High School in 1972, and attended the University of Alabama where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

After spending many years working with preschool children, she went to work for ALFA Insurance where she was a beloved employee for 27 years. She recently retired to spend time with her family and to travel with her lifelong best friend and husband of 43 years, David Tingle. A devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, she was a shining example of God’s love to all who were lucky enough to know her.

She taught Sunday School, was active in worship, and always found time for service projects at church. Rhonda had a servant’s heart and let her light shine bright for Jesus so others may come to know Him. Her family was the most important thing to her and she was sure to let them know how special they were through her words and her actions.

Known by her grandchildren as “RaRa”, she was never happier than when she was spending time with her grandsons. She was proud of her family, felt blessed for the time she spent with them, and was grateful for all the little moments like riding bikes and searching for seashells. Some of her fondest memories were working on the family egg farm, where she developed a strong work ethic, and learned many other valuable principles that guided her life.

She enjoyed camping, kayaking, trips to the cabin at the beach, sunsets, and traveling. She always had time to listen, to give of herself, and to deliver a heartfelt hug. An encourager by nature, she was always there to lift others up and to make them feel special.

She was a woman of great strength, dignity, and purpose, providing a solid Christian example for her family. Those closest to her remember her warmth and generosity, her impartial acceptance, her incredible sense of humor, her gentle nature, and her wise advice. She left a legacy of love and faithful obedience to Christ.

She was a special treasure, a kind spirit, and an indescribable gift from God. She is survived by her husband, David Franklin Tingle; and her children, Suzie Tingle Tant (Adam) and Daniel Graham Tingle (Karen). Also surviving are her siblings: sister, Phyllis Ryan Montgomery (Mike), and her brother, Drew Ryan (Laura) as well as her mother, Eloise L. Ryan all of Tuscaloosa.

She is also survived by her three grandsons, Alex Tant, Davis Tant and Dani Tingle. She is preceded in death by her father D.L. Ryan. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at The Word Community Church (9310 Highway 69 North, Northport, AL 35473).

The memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bart Tingle, Bob Tingle, Tim Tingle, Mike Montgomery, Mike Brewer and Joe McCurnin. Honorary pallbearers include the Frayed Knot Band and employees of ALFA Insurance. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl, P.O. Box 566, Cottondale, AL 35453.

“She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future”.
