PAQUETTE, Richard Alfred, October 2, 1941 – December 10, 2018, 77, of Richmond RI, formerly Coventry and Providence. A proud father, grandfather and Rhode Island State Employee. Eldest son of the late Joseph and Rita Paquette, and brother to the late David Paquette.

Survived by his Sister Denise (Ronald), brother Joseph (Nora), his son, Colonel, U.S. Army (retired) Richard A. Paquette (Cheryl), granddaughters Sarah and Emily and daughter Michelle Paquette-Canning (Paul), grandson Andrew and granddaughter Catherine. Alumnus of Our Lady of Lourdes, LaSalle Academy and Providence College,1965. In 1966 he began a lifelong career with the state of Rhode Island as a computer programmer steadily rising in his field, retiring after 52 years in 2018.

He was an accomplished equestrian. Throughout his life he made friends around the State and world. Grateful for his neighbors in Richmond (Sean and Joe), as well as his colleagues, who were indispensable as his illness progressed.

An independent thinker who went his own way and did his own thing. Tenacious and smart, he loved his family, friends, State and Country. He will be missed but not forgotten.

His Funeral will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte. 117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Coventry. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.

Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm.
