Richard E. Patterson was born November 16, 1958 to Dorothy and Willie Patterson. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, William Patterson, Charles Patterson, Steven Murphy and Louis Clark; sisters Janie Abraham, step-sister, Linda Clark. Richard enlisted in the army in 1978, served eleven years and was honorably discharged.

After that, he returned home and became a chef and served as head cook. He worked as a chef at various places: County Jail, Adams Mark Hotel, Embassy Suites and the Marriott. He worked at St. James Place until his health failed.

Richard leaves to mourn: son, Daniel Pastor, two grandchildren; sisters, Doris M. Patterson-Dale, Delores Tolefree, Janice Winston, Venita Baker, Willetta Patterson, Vickie Ann Patterson; step-sister, Brenda Murphy; brother, William Michael Clark; stepbrother, George Murphy; step-mother, Ruby Patterson; special nephew; his best friend, William H. Patterson and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 2, 2018 at Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Chapel 1800 E. Linwood Blvd. KCMO.
