Richard’s Obituary Richard J. Nieratka of Rahway passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Rahway. He was 49 years old. Born in and raised in Elizabeth, NJ; He resided in Rahway for the past 18 years.

Mr. Nieratka was employed as a Laborer for the past 30 years with Laborers Local #3 in Woodbridge. Richard was a member The Sea Scouts Ship #228 in Linden and Bowled in The Sunday Night League at Woodbridge Bowling Center. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Nancy Zawila Nieratka.

Surviving are his wife of 4 years Karen Horvath Nieratka; a sister Joann Lesniak and her husband Paul of Clark; a brother Ronald Nieratka of Linden; his mother-in-law Margaret Horvath; two sisters-in-law Lisa Zalasar and Michele Irving and her husband Tim; a brother-in-law Gordon Horvath and his wife Christine; his nieces and nephews Matthew, Scott, Victoria, Emily, and Stephen. Funeral services will take place Saturday, January 26, 2019 10:00 a.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
