HOLTMAN, Mr. Richard J. Hickory Corners, MI Passed away peacefully Thursday morning January 17, 2019 at his residence. Richard was born August 22, 1946 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of John and Rose Ellen (Born) Holtman. He was a graduate of Parchment High School prior to serving his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Army in the 196th light infantry brigade.

He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for over 30 years before retiring. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, John Holtman Jr. and Jack Holtman; and 2 sisters, Margorie Hoogendoorn and Betty Ross. He is survived by 2 children, Josh (Amy) Holtman of Plainwell and Michelle (Rob Martinez) Holtman of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren, Jazmin, Pikasso, Brooklyn, Mason, and Zackary; his former spouse, Janice Holtman of Plainwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial gathering will be held 4-8pm Monday, January 28th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Private burial will take place at a later date.
