Obituary for Richard J. Smith Richard J. Smith, 88, of North Huntingdon passed away Wednesday October 17, 2018 in the Transition Health Center, North Huntingdon. He was born February 5, 1930, in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late Curtis and Helen (Rosky) Smith.

Predeceased by a brother Thomas. He graduated Jeannette High School class of 1948 and served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War. Started his working career in his early teens with Shrums Dairy, then to the Elliott Co., Diamond Power, Gibson Electric and Genuine Tool before forming his own machine parts business R.J. Smith Enterprises.

Archery, Pigeons and Golf were his avid interests throughout his life. He enjoyed all outdoors. His lawn and garden were very important to him, epically his tomatoes.

Survived by his wife Barbara (King) Smith; two daughters Anita Moran and her husband, Joseph, of Pittsburgh and Christine Smith, of Louisville, KY; sister Florence Lee, of Greensburg; brother Eugene Smith and wife, Patricia, of Ligonier; sisters-in-law Carol (Jack) Etzel, of Pittsburgh and Judith (Richard) Kostelnik, of Greensburg. A funeral service will be held Monday 11:30 a.m. at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. Interment will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
