Obituary for James E Houck James E. Houck, 69, of North Huntingdon passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on December 21, 2018. Jim was the son of E. Jane Houck and the late Morris Houck. He is survived by his wife, Marianne, a daughter, Jennifer (and Derek Kassimer), son James (and Jennifer) Houck, and grandchildren Ashley, Joey, Beckett, P.J. and Caiden.

Jim was one of the good guys in this world. He would help anyone in need. He devoted his time and talents to fix anything.

Although he lived less than the average life span, Jim didn’t live an average life. He was married to his love for over 41 years and worked for the same company, Compacting Tooling Inc., for over 30 years. Jim restored a 100+ yr old house with his carpentry talents and saved countless pieces of furniture to resell at the Lincoln Highway Hub where he was affectionately known as the “Hubmaster”.

He lived an adventurous life. He survived tractor rolls, falling branches hitting his head, and numerous close calls with his power tools. He was a machinist by trade and meticulous with his woodworking skills.

He thought of life in “thous” and “hundred thous,” not hours and minutes. His legacy will live on in the gifts he made for his children, grandchildren, and friends. He will forever be missed by his furry kids, Macey, Pip, and “Big” Kitty boy.

A special thank you to Bridges Hospice- especially nurse Karl and Aide Lisa, our nurse Michele, and our special friends Tom & Shirley, Kirk & Sharon, and Rich & Ginny. All are family in the true sense of the word. We could not have given Jim the support he truly deserved without each and everyone of you.

We love you. May the Lord shower his blessings on each and everyone of you. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Avenue where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 am.
