Richard L. Caldwell, 80, residing in Mishawaka, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at his residence. He was born on September 29, 1937 in South Bend, IN, to Russell and Ruby H. (White) Caldwell, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 22, 1965 in South Bend, Richard married the former Margaret L. Cheatwood, who preceded him in death on August 28, 2011.

Richard is survived by his three daughters, Ruby D. Caldwell of Mishawaka; Tammy Reichanadter of Mishawaka; Margie (Rob) Reith of Niles, MI; two sons, Edward (Fran) Schrump of South Bend; Jeff (Stephanie) Caldwell of Mishawaka; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Hall of South Bend. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard is preceded by his brother, Russell Caldwell. Richard was employed at Monarch Textiles for more than 25 years.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He loved farming with his brother. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Private services for Richard will be held by the family. Private burial of ashes will take place at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
