Richard’s Obituary Richard Lee “Boo Boo” Hawkins, 61, of 251 County Line Road, Tyner, NC, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. “Boo Boo” was born in Northampton County on May 24, 1957, and was the baby of 14 children born to the late Henry Leon and Mamie Elizabeth Ward Hawkins. The retired owner of Sunlight & Decorative Moulding, he was a master craftsman, specializing in furniture making and finishing, both here and abroad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine of his siblings, and by his longtime friend and companion, Darleane Perkins. Surviving are two daughters, Amy and Julia “Racheal”; both of Morganton; a sister, Mary; brothers, Walter, Jimmy, and Jerry; and Darleane’s sons, Kip and Skip Perkins. Together “Boo Boo” and Darleane shared seven grandchildren, Brandi, Keicy, Skylar, Carlos, Peyton, Douglas, and Zoey.

A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday, March 21st, at 3:00 p.m. and will be held at the home of Barbara Cuellar, 301 Manteo Trail, Edenton. Online condolences may be made by visiting www. millerfhc.com.
