He was one of seven children born to Kenneth and Laura Massey in Willards, MD and became a permanent resident of Salisbury after serving our country in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He subsequently retired from the Campbell Soup Co., also.

Richard and Betty Massey had four children: Richard, Raymond, Danny, and Sandra, three of whom survive. There are six grandchildren: Ricky, Seth, Crystal, Cierra, Dawson, and Natalie, and several extended family members. As with others who preceded him, Richard will be missed by many.
