Gardner, Richard Louis – CPA, age 72. Beloved husband of 50 years of Mary Gardner (nee Marrissey). Died February 16, 2019 after a twelve year battle with prostate cancer.

He leaves behind his cherished family, Dr. Catherine (Jeffrey) Gardner – Smith DVM, their children Andrew and Ashley, Rebecca (Christopher) Norman, their children Zachary, Abigail, and Madison, and David Gardner. His brothers John P. (Joyce) Gardner, Steven M. (Diane) Gardner, sister Marti (Charles Murry) and sister-in-law BJ Gardner (Sarah, Mark, Matthew) and their dear grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Edgar R. and Annetta Gardner (nee Kyle), and brother Daniel R. Gardner.

Dick Graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1969. He was employed by Haskins & Sells CPA, family then the Clopay Corp. He wanted to devote his professional life to one of service and served as Treasurer of the Cincinnati Public Schools and then the Mason City Schools until his retirement.

Dick will be greatly missed by his family and his many, many dear friends. A mass to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2019, with a visitation from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at St. Susanna Catholic Church (616 Reading Rd. , Mason, Ohio 45040) with a memorial mass to follow beginning at 10:30 AM.

The family sends sincere and heartfelt thanks and loving appreciation to Dr. Brian Manion and Dr. William Barrett and their staffs. Donations may be made in memory of Dick to Angel’s Watch (angelswatch.net) or the charity of your choice.
