Richard “Lucky” Luckstead, 83, of Olin, Iowa passed away on January 28, 2019 in Mechanicsville, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date the Olin American Legion. Burial will be held at the Olin Cemetery.

Lahey and Dawson Funeral Services is caring for the family at this time. Richard was born on June 5, 1935 to Henry and Loretta Luckstead in Olin, Iowa. On July 6, 1957 he married Norma Wagner in Stanwood, Iowa.

He worked at Levsen Trucking, Moormans of Stanwood and for the City of Olin. He was part of the United States Army. He is survived by his children, Cindy Jean (Timothy) Holmes of Olin, Kim (Kasey) Brecht of Olin, 4 grandchildren; Matt Holmes, Travis (Nicole) Holmes, Zach (Katie Miller) Brecht and Emily (Nick Vacek) Brecht, great-grandchildren; Wyatt, Ellie, Archer and Josie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma, three sisters and two infant brothers. Memorials may be directed to the family in his honor. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.
