Richard Doyle was born on August 24th, 1925 to Otis and Ethel Doyle in Chicago, Illinois. Like his father before him, Richard served in the United States Navy in 1944 at the age of 18. He was on a Minesweeper in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii.

He then used the GI bill to UIC where he majored in history. In 1949 he met his wife, and they were married October 27th 1950. In 1955, they bought their second house in Garden Grove.

He worked at a pharmaceutical company, and he ran little league on the side. In 1991, he retired and they moved to Grant’s Pass. He loved to read and world history.
