Obituary for Mr. Richard Ray Stewart Sr Richard Ray Stewart, Sr., 92, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Harbor Chase Assisted Living. He now joins his parents, Roy R. Stewart and Edith Swanson Stewart; his beloved wife of 48 years whom he deeply adored, Fanchon Hollis Stewart; children, Ricky Stewart, Robert Stewart, Rodney Stewart and Roger Stewart; and a sister, Dorothy Grubbs in Heaven. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on February 24, 1926.

He studied Engineering at Michigan State University and had faithfully served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Following his military service, he worked for Detroit Edison and later for the City of Lake Worth, Florida Utility Department. Swimming was his passion and he was extremely proud of his military service.

Big Bend Hospice recently honored him in a Patriotic Ceremony attended by family and friends. Survivors include his children, Peter Martinsen, Jr., Claudia Martinsen-Hassell, Martha Eacker, Christina Purslow and Paul Martinsen Stewart; grandchildren, Louis Martinsen, Peter Martinsen, III, Nicholas Martinsen, Charles Hassell, Martin Hassell, Hannah Leavine, Emily Holmes, Summer Stewart, Parker Stewart, Jamie Gallahan and Jason Purslow and eight great-grandchildren. In keeping with his wishes, no formal services are being planned at this time.
