Mr Richard Scott passed away September 22, 2018 at his home in Union Springs, AL. He was a son, husband, father, brother,nephew, cousin, and friend. A devoted family man,Richard was born July 1, 1944 in Bullock County,Alabama.

He was the son of Edmond and Georgett Long Scott. Richard at tented the old Carver High School in Union Springs and later moved to Atlanta,GA. then to New York.

Although he lived most of his life in New York, he always held Union Springs dear to his heart and returned to live in Alabama after retirement from his job. Richard enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, old westerns, and Music. He was known to take weekend fishing trips to catch Porgies and flukes.

If you have ever checked his freezer, you would find lots of fish for frying. His love of cooking inspired him to assist in publishing the family cook book, his macaroni and cheese won first place at the family cook off ! Richard was well known for his amazing vegetable garden, the produce he eagerly shared with family, neighbors and friends.

Richard has been known to shell pecans and mail them to family members just because he knew they too loved to use them for baking. His love of westerns started when he was very young and went to the movies every Saturday, he kept a collection of Gun smoke movies and played them often. When he played music, everyone in the building sang along or danced all day.

He Loved the Motown Sound, and Pop. Secret Lovers by Atlantic Star was one of his favorites. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and three sisters.

He leaves to celebrate his life a wife Mrs. Emma Scott, A special friend Mrs Carolyn Still Seven children: Richard “Stink” Sloan, Demetrius Frazier Scott, Richard “Peanut” Scott, Ricky Grayer, Natasha Grayer, Travis Lily, and Rishard Lily, Grandchildren, great grandchildren: God Children; Tracey Lee, and Theresa Phinn; seven sisters: Maggie Lee, Georgia (Leroy) Phinn, Margaret Scott, Mary Scott, Dorothy Dillard, Diane (Horace) Welch-Isaacs, and Sherry Brant; five brothers;Willie, Edward, Calvin, Dean, and Thomas Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
