Richard’s Obituary Richard “Rick” Rivera, 63, of Topeka, peacefully passed Sunday, January 20, 2019 surrounded by his children He was born November 3, 1955 in Topeka the son of Louis and Isabel (Martinez) Rivera Rick served in the US Army. His career entailed several positions which ultimately ended in a supervisory position at Goodyear Tire Company. Rick’s entire life revolved around all of his children, from their childhood through their adulthood and up to the second he took his last breath He is survived by one daughter, Renee (grandson Isaiah), four sons, Roderick Rivera, Jarrod Rivera (granddaughter, Arielle), Lance Rivera (grandson, Peyton), Jacob Rivera along with five siblings, Raymond Rivera, Paul Rivera, Gloria Rivera and Mary Lou Rivera.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Isabel, a brother, Roberto Rivera and a sister, Anita Rivera. Rick’s family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial of his urn will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Midland Care Hospice, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www. brennanmathenafh.com.
