Rita Ann Gaudio, 90, of Frostburg, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born August 6, 1927 in Eckhart Mines, MD; she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Matilda (Valenzano) Gaudio. She is preceded in death two sisters, Marietta Gaudio and Joanna (Gaudio) Green; and three brothers, Michael Gaudio, Theodore “Norman” Gaudio, and Francis Gaudio.

Ms. Gaudio was a graduate of Beall High School. She held employment with Social Security Administration and the Department of Defense in Baltimore, MD. She retired in 1982, returning to the area after completing 37 years of employment and began volunteering at Memorial Hospital in various positions including hospice.

She enjoyed bowling, belonging to St. Ambrose and the AARP Leagues. She was a past member of the Moose, Chapter #221, the Farrady Post #24 American Legion Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary #1442. Rita is survived by one sister, Emma Bray, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at Divine Mercy Parish, St Michael, Frostburg, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 am; friends will be receive one hour prior to the mass with Fr. Edward S. Hendricks as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus #1442. In lieu of flowers, Rita requests memorials be directed to Divine Mercy, Frostburg.
