Robert “Bob”‘s Obituary Robert D. Rollenhagen, age 92 of North Muskegon, formerly of Holton, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at his home. Bob was born on May 24, 1927 in Muskegon, Michigan to Archie Otto and Agnes Mae (Shavalier) Rollenhagen and graduated from Holton High School in 1948. Bob enlisted in the United States Army after high school and served in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War until his retirement in 1975 as a Command Sergeant Major after 27 years of services.

After his discharge, Bob started his second career as a corrections officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections until his final retirement from the Muskegon Correctional Facility in 1989. Bob married Karolyn Kempf on August 4, 1962 at the Holton United Methodist Church and has been a lifelong resident of the Holton area. Bob was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church, a life member of the Whitehall VFW, longtime member of the Holton American Legion, life member of the Whitehall/Montague Masonic Lodge, had enjoyed woodworking and making wooden toys, enjoyed fishing and camping in his younger years and had earned his private pilot’s license at one time.

Bob truly treasured his time being a “grandfather” and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife 56 years, Karolyn of North Muskegon; his children, Kevin (Wallace Ngai) of Hong Kong; Terry (Scott) Perry of Whitehall; his grandchildren, Jordan (Nicholas) Bowne; Heather (Chris) Moon; Bryce Perry; his brothers and sisters, twin brother – Dick (Dolores) Rollenhagen of Fruitport; Don (Sharon) Rollenhagen of Whitehall; Eugene Rollenhagen of Montague; Jane (Jim) Schippers of Fruitport; Raymond Rollenhagen of North Muskegon; Elaine (Tom) Reichert of Holton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Rollenhagen.

VISITATION : Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11am at the Holton United Methodist Church 9530 Holton-Duck Lake Rd, Holton, MI 49425. INTERMENT with Military Honors : Oakwood Cemetery in Holton immediately following the church services.
