Robert L. “Bob” Eichler Sr., 80, of Mount Joy, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Florin, he was the son of the late John Helmsteadter and Virginia Eichler. Bob was the husband of Judith (Herr) Eichler.

Bob was a graduate of Donegal High School class of 1957. He was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church in Mount Joy. Bob was also a member of the Mount Joy Legion Post 185, VFW Post 5752 in Mount Joy, Lancaster Liederkranz and the Elstonville Sportsmen’s Association.

He enjoyed fishing, sitting on the porch with his dog, Bandit and was an avid Penn State Football fan. Surviving in addition to his wife, Judith, are three children, Robert L. Eichler Jr., husband of Michele Matthews of Hummelstown, David S. Eichler, husband of Rebecca of Lancaster and Jodi Hendrie of Hershey; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Eichler of NV and John Helmsteadter of AZ; and a sister, Carol Hoffman, wife of Patti McNeal of AZ. Services will be private.
