Robert P. “Buddy” Phelan, 74, a resident of Port Chester, NY died June 10, 2018. He was born November 12, 1943 in the Bronx to the late Marty and Ruth Orso Phelan. He was raised and educated in the Bronx.

He served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. Mr. Phelan was a retired police officer of the NYPD in the 52 Precinct in the Bronx. He was married on April 12 ,1964 in the Bronx to Catherine DeFabbia.

Mr. Phelan was a member of the National Association of Destroyer Veterans (The Tin Can Sailors). He was also a volunteer at the Intrepid Museum. He is survived by his beloved wife Catherine Phelan of Port Chester and daughter Dawn Martinez and her husband Fernando of Mahopac, NY, grandchildren Joaquin Roberto and Olivia Marie Martinez.

brother John Phelan and wife Eileen of Huntington, NY. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Alice Scaglione and Maureen Phelan and brother Edward Phelan.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9PM on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral service will be 10AM on Thursday June 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Hospital or to American Brain Tumor Association.
