Obituary for Robert E. Johnson Robert E Johnson, 88, of Anderson, passed away on May 12, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born on March 16, 1930 in Hammond, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. Robert proudly served his country in the US Navy on the USS Jason.
He retired after 30 years from Delco Remy serving in several capacities as an Engineer. He continued his career for an additional 15 years leading Multiple Engineering. He was a member of St. Mary’s and St. Ambrose Catholic Church since his arrival to Anderson.
Robert is survived by his children, Terese Johnson of Anderson, Dan (Karen) Johnson of CO, Joan Hurd of KY, Michael (Kathy) Johnson of FL, Rob (Marta) Johnson of TX, Sharon (Mike) Etherington of Pendleton, Jennifer (Jeff) Pieper of Greenwood; siblings, Shirley Dixon, Dorothy Warner; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Mary Johnson; wife, Peggy Johnson; sister, Edna Bloom. Private services will be held.
