Robert’s Obituary Robert E. Owen, 82, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Macon Health Care Center in Macon. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial with military honors will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton.

Visitation is Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home. Robert was born July 17, 1936 in Fulton, the son of Emmett and Ella Elizabeth (Maupin) Owen. On December 12, 1958 in Auxvasse, he married Barbara Furness.

She passed away on March 12, 1990. Mr. Owen was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was a truck driver his entire career, including many years for MoCon.

Robert was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his children, Debbie (Randy) Davis of Mexico, James (Loleta) Owen of Mayodan, North Carolina, Jackie (Bill) Duckworth of Mexico, and Carmen (John) Metheny of Auxvasse; 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth (Karen) Owen of Mexico. In addition to his wife, Barbara, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Millard and Donald Millard; and one sister, Janice Ellis.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Missouri Veterans Home. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Charlie Jackson and Jack and Trish Turner, all of Mexico.
