Robert “Bob” E. Gaffner, age 80, of Palmyra, passed away on September 14, 2018 with his family by his side at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. Bob was born on October 18, 1937 in Greenville, IL to the late Dale and Hester (Maurer) Gaffner. He married Sharon Vallee on October 26, 1957 in Whitewater.

Throughout the years Bob had been active in Cubs Scouts with his boys, the Palmyra Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Palmyra Fish and Game Club, and was a charter member of the Palmyra Lions Club. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Bob was loved and will always be remembered by his wife of 61 years, Sharon; children, Scott(Shelly) of Palmyra, Mark (Karen Pagel) of Appleton, Robin (Scott) Sweno of Palmyra, Terry (Scott) Gleesing of Fort Atkinson, and Michael of Whitewater; 9 grandchildren: Bill (Jamie) Gaffner, Tony Gaffner, Micayla Fero-Stauff, Ashley (Brett) Schmitz, Steve Sweno, Eugene Sweno, Morgan Gaffner, Mitchell Gaffner, Nichole (James) Jaquith; 4 great-grandchildren: Shane and Madison Gaffner, David and Taylor Schmitz; sisters, Joyce (Wayne) Ennen of Greenville, IL, and Wanda (Skip) Perry of Chicago, IL; brother, Roger (Susan) Gaffner of Georgetown, TX; sister-in-law Connie Gaffner of Kenwood, CA.

Bob is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Private services will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Palmyra.
