Robert F. Heimburg of New Milford was 89 years old when he passed away Friday, September 28th. Born in Englewood, Robert was raised in Fort Lee before settling in New Milford 67 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951-1956, during that time, he served oversees in Korea from 1952-1953.

Robert worked as a printer for Merz Press in Fort Lee before retiring. He was a craftsman who could build or fix anything. Active in his community, Robert was a member of New Milford Fire Company #2 since 1965 having served as Chief in 1972 and 1980 and currently as Chief Engineer.

He was a proud member of the VFW #6467 Bergenfield and the American Legion. Robert is survived by his loving wife Eleanor G (von Dohren) Heimburg, his son Keith R. Heimburg and his daughter Karen E. Heimburg. He was predeceased by his late sister Florence Heimburg.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday 3pm-7pm. A Fireman’s Prayer Service will take place at 6pm. A funeral service will be celebrated Monday morning 10am in the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the New Milford fire Company #2.
