Renee V M Cormick , March 25, 1926 — October 21, 2018

Renee V. McCormick passed away peacefully in her home just before dawn on Sunday, October 21st. Raised in Washington Heights, NY, Renee was the ninth of ten children born to Lebanese immigrants Joseph Maloof and Afdokia Gabriel. She graduated from Cathedral High School, New York City in 1943 and went on to employment in MetLife where she met the love of her life, the late Charlie McCormick.

They married, and several years later the growing family moved to New Milford, NJ into the house they called home for over half a century. Renee and Charlie were married for over 60 years. Renee was the loving mother of Renee, Barbara, Kevin, Trisha, and Charles (and mother-in-law to Caron).

Renee is also survived by her sisters Alice Maloof and Camille Tuite; and blessed by her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Faith, Conor, Kevin, Meaghan, Aly and Mikey. After raising her children, Renee pursued her wonderful talent and passion as an artist. Renee was involved with the Art Students League, New York City, the Art Center of Northern New Jersey, and the Salute to Women in the Arts, Inc. Renee painted primarily in oils and acrylics, but also explored other genres including masks, printing, stained glass and collage.

It was never a surprise to see Renee and Charlie loading up the car to show her stunning works in many New Jersey and New York exhibitions and galleries. A memorial mass will be celebrated in her memory at St. Joseph RC Church, 300 Elm Street, Oradell on Saturday, October 27th at 1pm.
