Robert’s Obituary Robert Franklin Poe III, 69, of Gould, AR died January 18, 2019 at UAMS. He was born Dec. 28, 1949 in Beaumont, TX, a son of the late Robert Franklin Poe Jr., He is survived by his wife Sandra Steed Poe, his mother Marguerite Fern Poe of Selma, AR, a son Robert F. (Dustin) Poe IV.

, and a stepson Joseph R. (Jody) Hardin Jr; two brothers Toby and Michael Poe, and sisters-in-law Celena Poe, Paulette Smith, Beth Foster, Brenda Steed, and brothers in law Rick Steed and Dr. Joel Foster. He had one grand-daughter Sara Jo Hardin of Ft. Smith, Ar.

, as well as numerous extended family and friends. He attended Dermott Public Schools and received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from University of Arkansas Monticello. In his early career he coached football at Dumas, Dermott, and Strong and is still affectionately known as “Coach” by many of his peers.

He later travelled the country as a pipe fitter and welder and eventually retired from Potlatch Corp. in 2008. Robert was a member of First Baptist Church of Gould.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks. Visitation held one hour prior to services beginning at 1 P.M. at First Baptist Church. Services will be held Monday, January 21st at First Baptist Church of Gould at 2 P.M. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery in Crigler.

Arrangements made by Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Gould or American Cancer Society.
