Robert G Semenko, Sr 77 of Hempfield Township went to be with his Lord on December 20, 2018 after a long battle with heart disease. He was born on Jan 4, 1941, son of the late John and Katherine (Teet) Semenko. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Elaine of 53 years, two children Robert (Rob) and wife Myong Semenko, Kimberly Semenko Ponitz, and three grandchildren Joshua M Semenko, Madeline R Ponitz, and Jack W Ponitz, a brother John Semenko and wife Jean, a sister in law Norma Jean Suttle and husband Bill of Ohio, Peggy McGeary of New Jersey, and Debbie McGeary of Ruffs Dale.

, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his two year old black lab and loving companion, Gracie. He retired as a CAD Operator from Kennametal Inc. in Latrobe Pa after 38.

5 years in 2002. He was employed by DMJ Transportation in 2013 as a monitor for special needs children. The kids brought him many happy and funny moments on the way to and from school.

Besides his part time job he loved doing woodworking projects for the house, being in his work shop making something special or being Mr Fix it Man for anyone that needed anything made or put together. Put a piece of wood in his hand and it became something out of the ordinary. Bob enjoyed a good round of golf for many years, and very seldom ever missed his favorite Pittsburgh Penguins on TV, or a Pittsburgh Pirate game, or the Steelers.

He also enjoyed fly fishing. He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Greensburg where is served as a deacon, board member, served on the Outreach Committee, belonged to Christian Workers and served as president, enjoyed every moment of pastor Dr. Renny Domske’s Bible Study Classes. He also attended men’s breakfast, tri county dinners, and always ready to help with projects around the church.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 5-7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Friday at 11am at First Christian Church 134 Mathews Street, Greensburg, PA 15601 (Everyone please go directly to the church). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Hill Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center 827 Georges Station Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
