Robert J. Coop, age 64, passed away on suddenly Friday, September 14, 2018. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Darlene Coop (nee Winkler), step-children, Kirk (Dione) Siegler, Kristi (Emery) Vamos, and Kerri (C.J.) Stockin; and 7 step-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Sophie (nee Jagodnik) Coop; and brother, Richard Lyle Coop.

Robert was born on September 25, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Joliet, to the late Lyle Franklin and Sophie Helen Coop. As a youth, he attended the Cathedral of St. Raymond Grade School and later graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. Following in the footsteps of his father and brother, he joined the International Union of Operating Engineers.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made out to Gift of Hope. Per Robert’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A committal service at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery will be held at a later date.
