Robert J. Lehr, 76, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 23, 1942 in Buffalo, NY, Bob was the son of the late Franklin and Genevieve (Gibbs) Lehr. On November 17, 1973, he married the former Linda A. Newbury.

Mr. Lehr was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from July 7, 1959, until his honorable discharge on July 11, 1963 and completed his duties with the Reserves on March 22, 1965. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Smurfit Stone, retiring on July 29, 2007.

Mr. Lehr was a life member of the Marine Corps League and an avid collector. Bob was a true handy man, and would offer his assistance to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed the races, reading, old movies and traveling.

Above all, his true passion, was his family and spending quality time with them. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lehr is survived by two children, Samuel (Kathleen) Lehr and Tamara (James) Bellreng; grandchildren, Samuel (Kelsey) Bellreng, Shelby (Robert Forster) Lehr, BayLee Lehr, Holly (Michael) Placek, Sarah (Michael) Dulski and Lisa Bellreng and great-grandchildren, Harper, Gia, Amelia, Emily and Conner. Bob also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Donald (Peggy) Lehr, Richard (Audrey) Lehr, Beverly (late Lawrence) Sawyer and Peggy Huels and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 12-3 and 6-9 p.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating. Interment, concluding with Military Honors, will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.
