Robert L. “Bob” Landis, Sr., 81, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Tuesday July 24, 2018 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. He was born May 11, 1937 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Lee and Helen E. (Westling) Landis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Merle Landis.

Bob retired after 38 years from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he was a 16 point Millwright. He was a member of Rosemont Chapel; he served his country in the U.S. Army; and he enjoyed playing music and hunting.

Surviving are his wife of almost 11 years, Marsha (Bates) Landis; four children, Robert L. Landis, Jr. of Wellsville, OH, Randy (Sandy) Dickson of Mexico City, MO; Bobbie Gene Landis of Freeport, OH and Shannon Martineau of Steubenville, OH; a sister, Barbara (David) Rice of Steadman, NC; seven step-children, Todd (Jenn) Girga of Richmond, OH, Janet (John) Francis of Mingo Junction, OH, Ginger Wedditon and Theresa Patton, both of Wintersville, OH, Eric (Diane) Girga and Steven Girga both of Mingo Junction, OH and Bobby Rush of Steubenville, OH; his good friends Ray and Sharon Coen of Wellsburg, WV; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; fourteen step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave. , Mingo Junction, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of his funeral services at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Eric Girga, officiating and Military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
