Robert Legrande Evans, 72, husband of Diane Powell Evans, died Saturday, December 15, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence. Mr. Evans was born on February 19, 1946 in Florence County, son of the late Garlon J. Evans and Bessie Wright Matthews Evans. He was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and was retired from Talon and Walmart.

He enjoyed dirt track racing, was a member of The Bible Temple and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Diane Powell Evans of Coward; daughters, Robin E. (Nevin) Matutina of Mt. Pleasant and Leslie Evans Thompson of Florence; grandson, Robert Guyton “Guy” Thompson of Florence; siblings, Libby Morris of Lake City, Nancy (Mitchell) Crawford, Fred Evans and Dale (Warren) Anderson, all of Coward.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at The Bible Temple, Coward, with burial to follow at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Scranton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton. Memorials may be made to The Bible Temple, 195 Gause Canal Road, Coward, SC 29530.
