Robert B. Polacek died on Sunday, September 23, 2018, surrounded by his family, having attained the age of 87 years, 5 months and 14 days. Robert was born on April 9, 1931, in Fults, Illinois, the son of Frank and Mary, nee Ditte, Polacek. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and a dock supervisor for Gateway Transportation.

In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death his daughter, Linda Davis, two sons, Edward Alan Polacek and DeWayne “Wino” Polacek, his brothers, William Polacek, Frank Polacek, and Edward Polacek, his sisters, Emmie Schmidt, and Violet Burke. Robert is survived by the love of his life the former Polly Mack whom he married on April 6, 1968, in New Design, Illinois, his sons, Don (Mary Lou) Polacek, Waterloo, Illinois, Lawrence Dean (Lori) Polacek, Fults, Illinois, and Keith Polacek, Lenexxa, Kansas, his daughters, Angela (Kenny Kettler) Waterloo, Illinois, Teresa Witt, Waterloo, Illinois, and Christine (John) Pfeffer, Waterloo, Illinois, one sister, Marcella Roider, a sister-in-law, Lynette Polacek, Baldwin, Illinois, 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society and will be received at the funeral home.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 26, 2018, from 4:00PM to 9:00 PM at the Creason Funeral Home, 218 W. 4th St., Waterloo, Illinois. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Southcombe officiating.

Burial will follow at the Kolmer Cemetery.
