Robert Pizzi, 59, of South Amboy passed away September 14th at home. Born and raised in South Amboy, he was a lifelong resident. Prior to his retirement, he was a custodian in the Woodbridge Public Schools where he worked for 30 years.

Robert was an avid bowler who participated in many leagues at Majestic Lanes, Woodbridge. He loved all sports and he followed a variety of teams. He enjoyed spending time with his friends both near and far, in particular spending time with those he lived with at his residence.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert is survived by his sons, Robert and Nicholas Pizzi, his mother and step father Anna Louise and Stephen Smigelsky, his father, Alfred Pizzi, his sisters, Marie Pizzi and her partner Edward Wojtowicz and Nancy Thompkins and her husband Keith, his uncle, Joseph Sorbera and countless cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, September 20th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whiteley Funeral Home, 241 Bordentown Ave.

, South Amboy. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Committal services will be private.
