Obituary for Robert Preston Tuck CHATHAM, Robert Preston Tuck, age 73, of 2068 Tightsqueeze Rd. Chatham, VA, entered into rest on February 1, 2018 at SOVAH Health Danville in Danville. He was born on October 30, 1944, in Charlotte County, the son of the late Jesse Tuck and the late Hallie Tuck.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Murphy Tuck. He was a member of Concord Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam in the Underground RADAR Unit and retired from B&W Nuclear Fuel Division in Lynchburg.
He also coached Pittsylvania County Youth Football for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ricketts and Shelley English; four grandchildren, Haley Ritchie Barnitz, Emily Towler, Olivia Turpin, and Josie Crabb; three great-grandchildren, John Barnitz, Preston Barnitz, and Avery Barnitz; and one nephew, Bud Laughlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jacob Towler; a brother, Billy Tuck; two sisters, Rosa Quinn and Mary Alice Laughlin; and a niece, Sterling Holt.
Funeral services will be conducted at Concord Methodist Church on Saturday February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence, 2068 Tightsqueeze Rd.
Chatham, VA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2880 Concord Rd, Chatham, VA 24531. Scott Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Chatham is serving the Tuck family.
