Obituary for Robert W. Chitty Robert W. Chitty, 87 of Great Kills passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 5th, at Staten Island University Hospital South. Born on May 31, 1931 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Chitty. Bob and his loving wife of 60 years Catherine, moved to Staten Island in 1962 where they raised their two children Robert John and Helen Catherine.

Bob worked for Ports America for 56 years before retiring in 2012. He always looked forward to vacations with his family especially to Siesta Key Florida, where he was able to enjoy another passion of his, swimming. He was a devoted and cherished member of the Woodrow United Methodist Church where he was Treasurer and would do whatever other work needed to be done.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Catherine (nee Kotchie), His devoted children Robert John (Susan), and Helen Catherine. He was an adored grandfather to Alexander (Mary Kate), Kristen, and Andrew. Bob is also survived by his loving sister Janet Jerge.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Woodrow United Methodist Church located at 1075 Woodrow Road, Staten Island, NY 10312. Interment will be in Woodrow United Methodist Church Cemetery, Staten Island. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, NY.
