Robert W. Lord Robert W. Lord went to meet his Maker on Thursday, July 5, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Robby was born December 9, 1965 and was a lifelong resident of Akron, having graduated from Firestone High School in 1984. He enjoyed Cleveland Indians games, bowling with the Knights of Columbus, golfing and spending time with friends in the valley, and playing poker with friends and family.

He lives on in his two sons, Robert and Samuel, of whom he was very proud. Robby is also survived by his parents, Jim and Annette; siblings, Jim (his favorite), who took great care of him, Ann (Sam) Messina, Dolly (Scott) Brown, and Vince (Sandy) Lord; his nieces, Lydia Gentner, Courtney (Alex) Worner, Maria Brown, Morgan and Lia Helderman; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all of the medical professionals who cared so lovingly for Robby.

Most will remember that he “messed with them” by playing jokes on them. As much as he teased, he was equally quick to thank each person who entered his room. Rob’s family and friends find comfort in knowing that he deeply loved them all and that he is finally at peace.

Calling hours 5-7pm Monday at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd. in Fairlawn. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Tuesday, July 10 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 W. Market St. Akron, OH 44303, PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
