Obituary for Mr David Horvath David Horvath Our brother and friend, David, age 55, valiantly fought a brain tumor for over 6 years. He passed away peacefully on September 21, 2018. He will be missed.

David was quirky, funny, intelligent and loved animals and nature. David graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1981. He earned two degrees from The University of Akron: one in Electrical Engineering and another in Music Composition.

He worked for many years for Stone’s Quality Environments and Rosby’s Greenhouse. Web site design was another interest of his. David played several instruments including piano and saxophone.

He played saxophone for several local big bands including Swing Machine. He loved and taught others how to swing dance. David was a lover of old time music, TV and movies especially from the 50’s- 60’s.

He also gifted friends and family with crocheted items he made. Running in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park was another passion of David’s. David enjoyed cooking and would often make bread or intricate recipes or adapt recipes so that they were vegan.

He also loved different international foods, especially Indian food. David’s parents, James and Betty Horvath preceded David in death. He is survived by his siblings, Leslie Scherry, Todd Horvath and Carol Wagner and their spouses.

His niece, Eva Wagner and nephews, Evan Wagner and Ethan Wagner were very special to him. David is also survived by his good friend, Don Choma. Don was an especially good and caring friend, caregiver and support system for David.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is planned for David on SATURDAY, October 13th at Noon at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. until Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Brain Tumor Association or Seasons of Life Hospice in Parma, Ohio.
