James Franklin Rothrock Jim Rothrock, 78, passed away on September 27, 2018, after a short illness. Jim was born in Akron, Ohio on July 9, 1940 to Norman Henry and Ethel Mildred (Garske) Rothrock. He lived in the Akron area for the majority of his life.

He graduated from Buchtel High School, attended Penn State University and graduated from the University of Akron. He was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, from which he retired after 30 years of service. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Hallie Noelle Rothrock, and former wife, Sigrid (Burkhardt).

He is survived by his former wife, Diane; son, Jason A. Rothrock and his wife, Christine Ciarrochi Rothrock. Jim was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, where he was a choir member and soloist in his young adult years. Two of his proudest achievements were attaining the level of 33rd degree Mason and attaining sobriety in 2004.

He loved his family and cars and was gifted in music. Funeral service is 11am Monday, October1 at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd. , Fairlawn, with interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10am until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Negro College Fund at www. uncf.org.
