Obituary for ROBERT TAYLOR III Robert Taylor III, born March 18, 1973 in Olney, Illinois passed away unexpectedly June 3, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. Robert, affectionately known as “Taylor” and “Rob” was preceded in death by Richard Shelvin (maternal grandfather), Mary Elizabeth & Bruce Cole (maternal grandparents) and Robert Taylor Sr. (paternal grandfather). Rob graduated from Eastmoor High School where he met his devoted wife of 28 years Rebecca Taylor.

He pursued higher education at Central State University and Columbus State Community College. Rob also loved basketball, football, shooting pool, grilling and cooking for others. He spent his spare time coaching his daughter’s basketball team, operating a basketball camp for youth called “Hit the Open Man” and showcasing his entrepreneurial talent.

Taylor was employed for 17 years with AT&T where he served in various administrative positions. He was also a member of CWA Local 4310 where he served as Chief Union Steward, Secretary and Treasurer. Taylor was the Associate Producer for Minority Film Coalition in Columbus, Ohio and in earlier years Co-Owned the Livingston Court Fish Market Restaurant.

Rob leaves to mourn his devoted wife of 28 years Rebecca A. Taylor, three beautiful daughters Makayla Marie Pernell (De’artae), Mayah Elizabeth and Meranda Ulahn Taylor. He also leaves to mourn, Belinda Taylor (mother), Billy Wood, Robert Taylor II (father) (Deborah), Dorothy Taylor (grandmother), Ariana Broom (sister) (Deshawn), three brothers Larry Wells Jr. (Lori), Tim Wells (Jessica) Martin Suber, special cousin Dontel Taylor and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
