Rochelle LaShawn Smith-Wiltz March 11, 1966 – January 06, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Rochelle LaShawn Smith Wiltz was a precious gift born to Willie Smith and Verna Josey Smith on March 11, 1966 in Houston, Texas. She was the older of two children born to this union and she quickly accepted the role of devoted big sister to David when he arrived. She opened her heart and publicly received Jesus on June 15, 1975 as her Lord and Savior at St. Paul Baptist Church.

Rochelle united with The Church at Bethel’s Family May 22, 2011 where she faithfully served in Servants Heart Ministry working in many capacities. She was educated in the Fort Bend Independent School District and graduated from Willowridge High School in Missouri City, Texas. She continued her education in management at Southern New Hampshire University.

She participated in extracurricular activities of scholarly and social endeavors and was a member of Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid reader, devoted Christian and loved spending time with her family and friends. Rochelle spent most of her career in the healthcare insurance industry.

Most recently as a healthcare manager for Anthem (Amerigroup) where she worked for over 15 years and gained many friends that she considered family. On July 19, 2003 she was united in holy matrimony to Jeffrey Wiltz and enjoyed over 15 years together. Sons Ryan Lenz, Reid Smith, Jalon Smith, Malcolm Wiltz, Jeffery Wiltz Jr. and daughter Nia Dorsey, who were part of the marital package rounded out this family.

Later God blessed them with three beautiful grandchildren, Madyson(2015) and Maverick (2018), through the union of Ryan and Maurisa and granddaughter Alayla (2018) from son Malcolm Wiltz who will also welcome another granddaughter in March 2019. Rochelle was “GiGi” to her grandchildren. Rochelle’s witty personality attracted many friends and acquaintances over the years.

She maintained lifelong friendships with co-workers and classmates from kindergarten to present. She was humorous, pleasant, outgoing and easy to be around. She lived life to the fullest.

On Sunday, January 6, 2019, she was summoned to her heavenly home. She leaves her precious loving memories with her beloved husband, Jeffrey Wiltz; loving mother, Verna Smith; brother, David Smith (Traci); sons, Ryan Lenz (Maurisa); Reid Smith; Jalon Smith; Malcolm Wiltz (Elexus), Jeffery Wiltz Jr., daughter Nia Dorsey; three grandchildren Madyson, Maverick, Alayla, sister -in-law, Ramona Wiltz (Clifton Richard); brother -in-law Kenneth Wiltz, and Joe Wiltz(Rawanda), nephews and a host of other relatives and special loving friends. Visitation 8am-10am, funeral service will began at 10am at The Church at Bethel’s Family-14442 Fonmeadow Dr.-Houston 77035.
