Roger Dale Potts of Santa Fe, Tennessee March 7, 1947 – February 22, 2019 Mr. Roger Dale Potts, age 71, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11 AM at Heritage Funeral Home, with Rick Points officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Potts Cemetery of Kinderhook. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on March 7, 1947 in Maury County, Tennessee, Roger was the son of the late Edward Lee Potts and the late Ruby Stanfill Potts.

Roger served proudly in the military and did 2 tours in Vietnam with the United States Army. He was a heavy equipment operator employed by Operating Engineers Local 369 until his retirement. Roger had a special love for his mother and took care of her during the last years of her life.

He always put others before himself and would help anyone that needed help. Roger especially loved his wife, children and grandbabies. In addition to his loving wife Sharon Potts, he is survived by his son, Christopher Michael Potts (Angela) and daughter, Gayla Suzanne Potts Church (Darrin), sisters Margaret Potts and Sandra Marcrom, sister-in-laws Elizabeth (Kirk) Sutherland, June A. Hunter, Judy (Wendell) Newman and Janice Martin as well as six grandchildren Shelby Paige Church, Sidney Brooke Church, Madison Taylor Potts, Michael Dale Potts, Matthew Ryan Potts and Sophie Grace Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Margie Potts and Lillie Mae Black and brothers Bobby Lee Potts and Billy Raymond Potts. Pallbearers will be Barry Marcrom, John Marcrom, Jeff Martin, Scott Martin, Adam Glass, Troy Potts and Jason Anglin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe King and Jeff Klinger.
