Obituary for Roger L. Vos Roger L. Vos, age 100, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born June 16, 1918 in Muskegon to Frederick and Gertrude (Wiersema) Vos and was a life resident of the area. Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served 1942-45 in North Africa and Europe during WWII.

On August 17, 1956, he married the former Trena Medema in Muskegon and she survives him. He worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office for 40 years and retired in 1979. Roger was a longtime member of the former First Reformed Church where he had served as a deacon and head usher.

He was currently a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. He was a member of the VFW in downtown Muskegon and was an avid bowler having bowled on several leagues over the years. SURVIVORS include his wife, Trena Vos of Muskegon; 4 children, Fred (Tina) Vos of Jackson, MI, James Vos of Muskegon, Janet (Randy) Varney of Whitehall, Gerald L. (Susan) Vos of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Andrew (Amanda) Vos, Sarah Varney, Brett Varney, Bethany Vos, Amy Vos, Ashley Vos, Noah Vos; 1 great-grandson, Cameron Vos; 1 niece and 5 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Shirley Dlhy, Virginia Vos, Marcella Vos, and 1 brother, Gerald Vos. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church (1568 W. Giles Rd. ) with the Rev.

Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. INTERMENT will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery with Military Honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
