Roger Lee Valentine November 20, 1941 ~ September 28, 2018 Roger Lee Valentine, 76, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, September 28, 2018. He was born on November 20, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Leland Leolan and Anna May Snook Valentine. After graduating from high school, he served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany from 1961 to 1964.

He then graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He married Joanne Probst on September 10, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. Roger and Joanne recently celebrated their 54 years together and a family reunion in Eden, Utah with their descendants.

Roger worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Hewlett-Packard, Agilent, Techtronics, and for several years ran his own sheet metal business. Most recently Roger did contract design work from home. Roger holds three US Patents for his engineering designs.

Roger enjoyed racing cars, both on the track and the freeway. He was devoted to serving friends, neighbors and family. He had a mischievous grin and loved practical jokes.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Joanne P. Valentine of North Ogden; children, Deborah V. (Craig) Dunn of Boise, ID, Carey V. (Orlando) Ruiz of Orem, UT, Ryan Lee Valentine of Auburn, AL, Anne V. (Jeffrey) Adair of Austin, TX, Lynette V. (George) Prosser of Pleasant View, UT, and Natalie V. (Casey) Roberts of Plain City, UT; 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Dan (Janet) Valentine of Grace, ID; and sisters, Jane Bauman of Bountiful, UT, Diane Christensen of Plain City, UT, and Susan (Richard) Gonzalez of Brigham City, UT. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Roger Valentine and his father and mother, Leland Leolan and Anna May Snook Valentine. The family would like to thank Intermountain Healthcare Hospice for their loving care of Roger, particularly Julie who cared for Roger both most recently and a few years previously.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 6th Ward, 770 East 2100 North. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
