Ronald M. Bala, age71, of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Ron was born December 11th, 1947 in Manhattan. Shortly after, his family moved to Piscataway NJ where he went on to graduate from Piscataway High School.

Ron was drafted in 1967 to the U.S, Army during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged after serving his country for two years. After returning home, Ron married JoAnne Dyrness and resided in Piscataway for a time until moving to Toms River in 1978. Ron had a passion for fishing and a passion for retail.

For the last 20 years, he has been employed by Fisherman Supply in Pt. Pleasant, where he found a home and lots of friends and family. Ron is predeceased by his son Kenneth, wife JoAnne, Parents Stanley and Pauline, and his brother Richard.

He is survived by his children Christopher and his wife Kimberly, and his daughter Katie, and his sister Barbara. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amanda, Kenneth, Nicole, and Emily. Ron was a gentle man with a kind heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 PM at Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, 412 Main St. Toms River, NJ 08753. Burial will be Monday 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the family or the funeral home.
