Ronald’s Obituary Ronald Gene “Ron” Russell, 73, of Yukon passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019. He was born November 27, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK. Ron served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969.

He worked at OU Medical Center as a Facility Mechanical Engineer for 37 years, retiring in 2017. Ron enjoyed old Western TV shows, OU Football, going to church and chocolate chip cookies. He also enjoyed talking with other veterans, supporting them, and letting them know he was praying for them.

He never met a stranger. Ron loved animals, especially dogs, but most of all he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; father, Joe; brother, Robert and sister, Penny.

Ron is survived by his wife Chris Russell of 48 years; daughter, Jennifer Schamel and husband Walter; daughter, Teresa Calvillo and husband Joe; granddaughters: Desiree Morales, Catarina Schamel and Danielle Morales; grandson, Corbin Calvillo; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Brooklyn and Ari. Also surviving are his sisters, Dorothy Watson and Carol Schwarz, as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Good News Church, 1054 E. Main St., Yukon, OK 73099 or Cavett Kids Foundation, 3801 N. Classen Blvd.

Ron’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Good News Church, 1054 E. Main St., Yukon, OK, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
