Ronald K Phelps, 75, of Mahomet, died at 12:10pm Tuesday (November 20, 2018) at Carle Foundation Hospital with his family by his side. Ron was born on 20 August, 1943 in Lincoln, KS, the son of Marcella and Harold Phelps. He married Carolyn E Williams on March 31, 1967.

He was a retired electrical journeyman lineman (IBEW local 51), avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his mother Marcella, father Harold, brothers Wesley, Rocky, and Gregory. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Carolyn Phelps; three children Michael Phelps of Philadelphia, Pa, Mark Phelps of Marion, Laura Hettinger (Robert) of Champaign, seven grandchildren and six brothers; Charlie, William, Gary, Wendell, Larry and Clayton.

In accordance with family wishes, he will be cremated, with the Funeral Service at 11:00am on Friday, November 30 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Mahomet. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be private.
