Ronald Leroy Scott, Sr., 76, of Milford, DE passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at Bayhealth Medical Center, Milford. Ron was born in Milford, DE the son of the late Leroy and Elizabeth (Draper) Scott. He was a graduate of Milford High School.

Ron served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis on the USS Elokomin. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Dover for 34 years before retiring in 1998. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Most important to Ron was spending time with his family, who he loved dearly. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Carol Scott; children Ronald L. Scott, Jr. and his wife Shauna, Christopher M. Scott and his wife Jennifer and Mary Scott and her fiancee’ Donald Robinson; his grandchildren Kyle King, Joseph “JT” Scott, Brad Hall, Lauren Scott, Elena Scott, Haley Scott, Corey Cordeiro, Sarah Scott and Christopher Scott, Jr; and his brother John C. Scott and his wife Virginia. A viewing will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will follow at 1 pm.

Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Rt. 113, Milford. Flowers will be accepted.

The family does ask that any contributions in Ron’s name be made to either the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, 1600 Rockland Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
