Havyer – Ronald R., 70, of Ferndale, went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2018, at his residence. He was born on May 27, 1948, in Johnstown. Son of the late Gazza and Helen (Buska) Havyer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah K. (Gillin) Havyer; brother, Edward; brother-in-law, William Billetdeaux, and sister-in-law, Gail Havyer. Ron is survived by his loving children, Jason and his fiancée, Cynthia Hutzell, both of Meyersdale, Erin Miller, Johnstown, and Jennifer, wife of Matthew Box, Windber. Also 7 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; brothers, Bernard Havyer, Omaha, NE and William Havyer, York, PA; sister, Thelma Billetdeaux, Geistown, and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was a graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Ron was a member of the Resurrection Roman Catholic Parish, and past member of the Lower Yoder Volunteer Fire Department.

He retired from Local #910 Laborers Union and also retired from the US Army National Guard, HHC 1/103rd Armor Battalion. Ron was a devoted father and grandfather. Family and friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Roman Catholic Parish. Committal will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by Menoher Post #155, VFW, Ritual Team. Online condolences may be posted at www.
