Ronnie K. “Pete” Shepard, 52, of Carmi, passed away at 6:33 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Carmi, IL, on June 21, 1966 the son of Roy Lee and Thelma Pauline (Yates) Shepard. Ronnie married Janice Knight on September 29, 2018.

Ronnie graduated from Carmi High School in 1983. He worked as a warehouse manager at Carmi Lumber Company for over 35 years. Ronnie enjoyed woodworking and loved Monday night family suppers.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Janice; his mother Thelma Shepard, of Carmi; son, Ryan (Danielle) Shepard, of Carmi; two daughters, Kristina (John Grant) Shepard, of Crossville and Claire Shepard, of Carmi; sister, Brenda (Randy) Patterson, of Wadesville, IN; two step-daughters, Ashton (Trey) Coultas and Abagail Catlin, both of Evansville; aunt and uncle, Audrey and Don Huff, of Carmi; nephew, Roy Michael Shepard; and four grandchildren, Paula Grant, Paxton Grant, Alexandria Shepard and Arthur Shepard. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Shepard and his brother, Michael Shepard. Funeral services for Ronnie K. “Pete” Shepard, 52, of Carmi, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.

Burial will be in Big Prairie Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Ronnie’s memory to White County Relay for Life and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
